The Department of Education is being reviewed as a broken failing system that the Trump Administration is looking to dismantle. Why is the education system broken? Well according to several studies a large number of public high school students are either reading on a 3rd grade level or can’t read at all. Students are still graduating which later can cause them to be a failure in society. How can a person operate at a job or even complete an application to even get a job to begin with. Furthermore, competing with others who are well equipped to succeed can cause mental anxiety and depression. Public schools are also using outdated textbooks. American students rank extremely low compared to their peers in other countries.

The decline has continued to happen over the years with the lack of parental involvement, mismanaging government funding that schools seem to never receive; which causes a learning delay. It's impossible for students to stay current if they do not have the technology and other suitable materials. Students mostly affected by this are students that come from low income homes. Not to mention testing scores are through the ground. High student to teacher ratios make it difficult for children to get the individual attention they need. There is also a shortage of teachers. Most teachers often complain about being underpaid and not having classroom supplies for students.

The reality is that children are failing and the government has concealed it long enough. Let's point out the plans of President Trump. President Trump prefers for the states to run the educational system. President Trump believes in school choice which is great for children stuck in poor zip code areas. The President has already started the dismantling process. President Trump claims that those fired within the Department of Education performed below standards and rarely showed up to work. President Trump also disapproves of the indoctrinating of racial and sexual explicit material being taught in schools. The focus should be on learning, science ,math, reading and other subjects that will cause students to perform better in the real world. President Trump, like many other Conservative supporters, believes this refocus is unquestionably needed. Bringing back prayer into schools and teaching children to embrace and love America instead of hating it is also Trump's priority. Giving students access to get internships and work experiences will also prepare them for their first job. What is most important is that Trump is also focused on making our schools safe by immediately removing any student who causes harm to teachers or another student. How bad can this be when the educational system is currently sitting at its lowest?
