Student Loan Bailout Ends. Trump Administration Enforces The Repay Of Debt

Student loans must be repaid, declares the Trump Administration. Biden's effort to cancel student loan debt for Americans is coming to a narrow end. Within the last 4 years student loan debts have been canceled and frozen which put taxpayers in the middle. Millions of loan borrowers are not happy about repaying their debt but it is necessary. Taxpayers should not be responsible for the loans of others. Debt does not magically disappear and it will end up getting passed off to someone else.

If loans are not repaid the government will garnish wages, pensions and tax refunds. Billions of dollars have already been transferred to taxpayers, but the bailout ends. Biden did not have the authority to cancel student loan debt which makes it illegal. Ironically biased news outlets excused his actions. Many dispute Trump's enforcement, claiming this is the wrong time to collect debt due to having a weak economy. Another push back against common sense. Loan rules have always been clear when signing a legal contract. It is the responsibility of loan borrowers to repay any funds received. Taxpayers never signed a contract accepting to repay student loans that borrowers refuse to pay; so why should we be responsible?

Collections of defaulted student loans are set to begin on May 5th 2025. Up to 15% could be garnished from the wages of borrowers if they refuse to repay their loans. Borrowers are urged to resume making payments or set up a payment plan.
